Koen Stijnen (1995) is a contemporary photographer from The Netherlands, his diverse oeuvre stems from a combination of different materials, methods, concepts and subjects. His work is recognizable for its graphic sight-lines, raw edits, contrasting images and minimalistic aesthetic.
With his conceptual work he takes a critical look at socially relevant themes, such as in the projects 'ASK WHY', 'COCOON' and 'THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT'. In it he highlights controversial topics, with the aim of offering the viewer a different perspective. However, he also does not shy away from working in an autonomous way and to work purely from his feelings.
